Acoustic Resonance Tour - Bogotá, Colombia- English.
Along the way, within our own
space and time, we always try to find a balance between each of the most
significant moments, thus trying to maintain an intense union between the
musical and the circumstantial; because finally we are that, minds that come together
to create stories and moments that the passage of time will never manage to
eliminate, because the meaning of some beautiful words subject to the harmony
dictated by brilliant minds, will always play for the creation of the best of
memories - the best of moments - and that is what Anathema has just achieved in
our walk and it is incredible that after so many years, we have been able to
have the opportunity to have 3 times (Danny's as soloist included) to these
beings that with their energy have always welcomed in the best way their
audience in Bogota.
This time we had the opportunity
to participate in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of -Alternative 4- a
magical night that started at 18.30 in the Teatro el Dorado 'ECCI' in the
company of more than 200 people waiting to stir their feelings to the sound of
those songs that made their hearts vibrate at every moment collected during the
passage of time and this time in the company of the Cavanagh brothers along
with Duncan Patterson, an unforgettable night and to tell the truth, very
unpredictable. The members of Anathema Colombia along with some fans, waited
for his arrival with a little surprise, this was a handmade flag with the logo
of Anathema 90's and a part of the Universal song that delimits the feeling
about the dream that was to have them in our country and to see that now all
that dream became a reality.
The meeting began with Danny who,
after giving a few words about the imposing Cerros Orientales of Bogotá,
interpreted Are you there? and Springfield and then received Vinny who took
over the main microphone interpreting songs such as Untouchable 1 - 2, Flying,
Thin air and finally, leaving marked with his incredible and heartfelt voice
(accompanied by Danny), the interpretation of One Last Goodbye. Just at that
moment Duncan Patterson makes his appearance on the stage being so received by
his fans with a lot of applause that made him sprout a huge smile, it was a
very impressive moment because within the audience we know the importance that
Duncan had in the beginning and passage through Anathema, not only in internal
friendship with the Cavanagh brothers, but also, in several changes that there
were at the musical level within the band. From Alternative 4 we had the
opportunity to enjoy Fragile Dreams, Shroud of False, Lost Control, Destiny,
Inner Silence, one followed by the other Eternity part I, II and III. The
public at this point did not stop chanting the songs forging a union of other
people's feelings that made this moment something more intimate and special, an
energetic influence that made us one contemplating those who have accompanied
us for so long in several moments that have been so significant in
circumstances that are only their own, however, such moments can be shared without
mediating a single word.
At this point Vinny and Duncan
decide to give themselves a space leaving Danny on stage, he begins with a
fragment of Bohemian Rhapsody -Queen- to which the audience responds with a
heartfelt applause, so that Danny finally began, after a few brief words and a
dedication, the song High Hopes (Pink Floyd's cover included in Daniel
Cavanagh's solo album 'Memory and Meaning'), this was a quite emotional and
special moment that then gave way to a second cover, but this time Radiohead,
Street Spirit (Fade out) with a funny ending because it was activated without
wanting an extra electronic sound, for which the audience reacted with
unexpected applause and smiles.
Finally, Vinny returns to the
stage in the company of Duncan and that, together with Danny try to listen to
the public with suggestions of songs to interpret, we wanted to have the
possibility of hearing Regret of which we only got a short snippet of the same
one and also of Sleepless, finally they choose to continue the show with the
second and last song cover to Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb.
It was an incredible night! on
the part of Daniel Cavanagh we were imbued with his love for our country and
for us, his audience, because every time he had the opportunity he reminded us
that 'Colombia is Magic' and yes, in one way or another our country and our
people is an eternal and incredible magic that shoots in the most beautiful and
best moments, as it was for us that Sunday night in Bogota.
Thank you Anathema for
wanting to share your celebration with us and in our country, fraternal
greetings!
